Gateway far exceeds origin
Murfreesboro City Manager Roger Haley saw a unique opportunity in 1998 to pull together various pieces of public and private land to form a large overall master plan that would address a number of public issues and provide for special private development.
The result is what we now call the Gateway Center that almost daily brings new and exiting developments to our city.
Shoppers celebrate grand opening of The Avenue

Laura Williams-Marcum planned to shop until she dropped Wednesday at The Avenue Murfreesboro.
The Murfreesboro woman was one of the first shoppers in line at Belk, one of the 30-plus retailers to open Wednesday at the new open-air retail center on Medical Center Parkway.
Embassy Suites opens in 2008!
The Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center is currently under construction, but will open September 15, 2008 at The Gateway, Murfreesboro. It will be the largest of its kind in Middle Tennessee.
